Organometallic compounds contain at least one bond between a carbon atom of an organic compound and a metal or metalloid and find use as reagents and catalysts in the synthesis of organic molecules. Many organotin, organosilicon, organolithium, organozinc compounds, metallocenes and Grignard reagents are available.
