Protease Quench EDTA-free tablets are a highly effective protease inhibitor to a broad spectrum of serine proteases, cysteine proteases and aminopeptidases. These tablets are well suited for protecting isolated proteins during extractions from animal tissues, plants, yeast and bacteria.
In contrast to other protease inhibitor tablets, these do not contain EDTA so the stability and function of metal-depended proteins remains unaffected.
The affinity purification of Poly-His tagged fusion proteins using IMAC (Immobilized Metal Affinity Chromatography) is also facilitated (no dialysis necessary).
Protease Quench EDTA-free tablets contain both irreversible and reversible protease inhibitors. Metallo- and aspartic proteases are not inhibited with the exception of aminopeptidases.
If protection of proteins from both proteases and phosphatases is necessary, then Protease Quench, EDTA-free tablets can be used in combination with our Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail.
Storage and Preparation
Protease Quench, EDTA-free tablets can be directly dissolved in the extraction medium. One tablet should be sufficient for the inhibition of proteolytic activity in 50ml. If very high proteolytic activity is present, one tablet can be used for every 25ml of extraction buffer.
Store dry at +2 to +8°C. Do not use after expiration date. Stock solutions are stable for 1–2 weeks if stored at +2 to +8°C.
