N,N-Dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal, also known as (Dimethoxymethyl)dimethylamine or 1,1-Dimethoxy-N,N-dimethylmethylamine, is a C-C bond forming reagent.

It can be used:

• as intermediate in the formation of pyridine derivatives
• for the derivatization of primary sulfonamides and trifluoroacetic acid
• in the preparation of formamidine derivatives
• as a reagent for n-dimethylaminomethylene and methyl esters
• to catalyze the coupling of epoxides with carbon dioxide to prepare cyclic carbonates
