N-Boc-1,5-Diaminopentane, also known as tert-Butyl (5-aminopentyl)carbamate (CAS number: 51644-96-3) is manufactured, supplied and distributed worldwide by Apollo Scientific.

It is a useful building block to prepare polyamines and polyamides. As an intermediate, it can be used in the synthesis of Methotrexate.

N-Boc-1,5-Diaminopentane can be used to form organic nanotubes by synthesising supermacrocycles. From monobrominated sulfoxanthene dye, it can be used to prepare water soluble unsymmetrical sulforhodamine fluorophores. It can also be used to synthesise functionalised porphyrins as biocompatible carrier system for photodynamic therapy.
